The band Kazety has been present on the Czech musical scene since 2008, they started as Cassete. The members of the trio are Johana Švarcová (a.k.a. DJ Johana), David Doubek (a.k.a. Ventolin) and the visual artist Jiří Havlíček. After one and half years of gigging, they released their debut Kazety and the band appeared in the For Semafor compilation with a cover of the song Krajina posedlá tmou. Kazety were nominated for the 2010 Anděl awards in the Alternative music category.

Johana Švarcová has been performing with other music projects since 2011, such as The Fakes and Dikolson; she also performs solo as DJ Johana. Ventolin released his solo record Totem in the end of 2012. Earlier this year, Kazety recorded a new piece, Jizvy, for the new film by Zdeněk Tyc, Jako nikdy.  “Our future remains unclear, as is our message,” is the band’s current motto.
