James Cook (DE)
The former frontman of London’s cult electropop band Nemo with whom he recorded three albums between 2004 and 2008, over the Berlin episode with The Dollhouse, has finally made his way to his solo debut Arts And Sciences where he also cooperated with Chris Corner (IAMX). His style has been quoted as “baroque electropop” where grumbling guitars meet dirty electro loops and epic strings.
James Cook is expanding his discography with two albums this year. Apart from his original album that has the tentative name of Ausland and is scheduled for release by the end of the year, audiences have access to Reverse Engineering (Vol. One) that offers Cook’s cover versions of pieces made by his idols from the electronica and New Wave scenes of the 1970’s and 1980’s, such as David Bowie, Kraftwerk and XTC.
