The members of the band have been present at the dance, punk, rock and jazz scene for nearly two decades. As far as styles are concerned, their work ranks to broken beats such as drum’n’bass and breakbeat. The tracks, however, are not pure dance music, Alef Zero puts high emphasis on the connection of electronic music with live instruments. The result is a most original merger of drum’n’bass, reggae, breakbeat, jazz, punk, rock and folk music.

The band formed in the spring of 2004, they started playing live in the fall of that year. Under the guidance of the experienced spiritual leader Teochar Bakardziev, the band released the debut album Olive in 2007.
