Prokop, Andršt, Hrubý trio (CZ)

The vocalist Michal Prokop has been at another climax of his career since 2006 when he released the comeback album, Poprvé naposledy (First Time the Last Time). His current popularity is comparable to the position he had in his previous lucky years in the late 1960’s and in the 1980’s. He has restored the band Framus Five and recorded the very successful album Sto roků na cestě (One Hundred Years on the Road) that has met the sales figures required for the Gold Record certification.

Apart from concerts with the band, Michal Prokop enjoys a more private approach to music in the acoustic trio. The lineup, apart from Prokop on the guitar and harmonica, has two more legends of Czech music who had worked with the singer in his previous “gold” eras – now they all have met in the trio as well as in the Framus Five. One of them is Luboš Andršt, the most famous Czech blues guitarist, who worked with Prokop in the 1960’s; the other is Jan Hrubý, violinist, who joined Framus Five in the 1980’s during the preparation of the band’s best record, Kolej Yesterday.
