When talking about this electronica band from Sweden, Czech people are likely to replace the hard to pronounce name with the abbreviation of SMK, which just happens to the Swedish name of the translation of Chuck Palahniuk’s famous Fight Club. The sextet has created five albums since 2003, participated in a collection of covers of and remixes of Björk’s Army of Me (2005).

The band was formed in 2000 from the ashes of The Solbrillers, a punk band. The idea to deal in synthesizer pop did happen by chance when the rock band’s vocalist failed to appear at a rehearsal and the other musicians had the idea of trying what their old synth would sound like when connected to guitar amps. Word has it that other musicians were admitted to the band depending on the quality of their synthesizers. The morale of this? The unreliability of one artist may be even lead to the beginning of famous bands…
