Gambrz Reprs (CZ)
The Gambrz Reprs project contains the members of three bands: Eskalátor, Divnej Postoy and Projekt-ill, that gives a total of 6 MC’s and two beat makers. The foundation of GR dates 20th October 2007 when three records would be christened at the same time at the XT3 club: Velociped Vopice, Zbytky Hostů na Kompostu and Kečup z Mačet. The first joint song that could be considered the beginning of the Gambrz Reprs project is called Nože II and was released on Eskalátor’s debut album, Kečup z Mačet.
GR’s first release, Šémhamforáš, would take two more years to complete; the idea to create the record under the shared name Gambrz Reprs would not appear until the process of the making of the record. After the debut, the band released two singles and a maxi-single Curacao Faux pas, that contains the biggest hit so far, Papež feat. Sodoma Gomora (The Pope feat. Sodom and Gomorrah) with over 300,000 views on youtube. The band’s second album Ministerstvo pro místní rozvoj was released this year and it offers a most interesting combination of guest appearances such as Vilém Čok and “the founding father of Czech rap”, Lesík Hajdovský.
